ROLE: UI Designer, UX Researcher

DURATION: 1 month

TOOLS: Adobe XD, Illustrator, Photoshop

For Spring Quarter 2020, I had the opportunity to enroll in ART 288 to learn about interaction design beyond self-teaching. The design challenge was to create a mobile wellness app that included conducting user research and finalizing a working prototype using Adobe XD. I came up with a productivity wellness app called Timeology, an interactive calendar app that encourages and motivates users to strengthen their day-to-day relationship with time and productivity.

TAKEAWAYS

Although I was not able to be in a physical classroom setting at Cal Poly, taking this course was still a very rewarding experience because it piqued my interest to develop my career in the field of user interface design and product design. This was my first end-to-end project that stemmed beyond visual design, which required research to understand user needs. From this project, I further learned the importance of designing with intention and purpose.
